- HASA is a voluntary, non-profit association of the majority of private hospitals in South Africa. It is funded by its members through subscription fees based on the number of hospital beds of each member. HASA is mandated by its members to lead the industry by engaging proactively with government and other stakeholders on policy and legislative matters, to represent the interests of its members and the private sector in appropriate forums, to facilitate independent research to inform national health policy and healthcare reform, and to serve the interests of patients by promoting quality care and patient safety.
